Mistley Garden Fete

Mrs Elsie Perkins provided the tom bola. Mrs Eileen Perry baked the cakes and fancies. Floor arrangement was by Mrs Judith Possttlethwaite. Have you spotted Randy Henry? The S&M stand (sandwich and muffins) was organised by Mr Bigger.

Tents were erected by the 17th Dovercourt Scout troop.

The homemade wine contest overran. Third prize went to Mr Jeffrey Jeffers with his dandelion and burdock special, second went to Mrs Patricia Cootlidge with her salmon savoury (sparkly) and first prize went to Mr Jim Roberts with his home made special brew lager.

Mr Rocky Hawkins was accompanied by a film crew directed by Mr Randy Henry. Mr Henry is making a documentary about Mr Hawkins and his colleagues who work as bouncers at Candy's, a club in Southend.

The raffle (a set of garden digging utensils) was won by Miss Janine Shipman. Second prize (a set of kitchen knives) was won by Mr David Cooper. Third prize (a chemistry set - slightly used) was won Mr James Meen.

Entertainment was provided by Mr Kenneth Horne, performing a selection of Bob Dylan songs.

The fete raised a total of £102.58.  The organiser, Mrs Rita Harlington, of The Avenue, Parkeston, thanked all who supported the fete. "I should like to thank all those involved." she said.
